That is right, and we can make ice-cream at home with just one simple ingredient… bananas.
Banana is one of my favorite fruits and recently I was a little greedy and bought too many!
After a bundle started to go bad I decided to research recipes for over-ripe bananas. During my hunt for the perfect new treat to try I found this One Ingredient Ice-Cream Recipe and could not wait to test it out!
I opted to also add a scoop of peanut butter because, well, I am obsessed. I was truly so pleased with the outcome! It was smooth, delicious and tasted just like peanut-butter banana ice-cream. Store bought ice-cream has so many additives. When you make something at home with just one or two ingredients (like this tasty treat) you know exactly what is going in, creating an indulgence so pure and clean. This is one bowl of ice-cream you do not have to feel guilty about.
Slice the bananas into small chunks:
Freeze for about two hours:
Blend frozen banana (occasionally scraping off what the sides of blender:)
Once you’ve blended for a bit you can add the peanut butter if you like!
And – voilà! Ice-Cream!
Yes I also added chocolate-chips. I couldn’t resist…
I love this idea because there are so many variations to try and additional ingredients to test. It makes ice-cream even more fun!
