I am so thrilled that I have been sticking to my goal of practicing yoga once a week!  My body is finally starting to lose that super constricted feeling that often happens when working out without stretches. (I KNOW how important stretching is – but often I am guilty of just not giving myself the time to do it – which is where weekly yoga comes in handy!) Today I went to Mang’Oh Yoga – a little boutique yoga studio by my apartment building.  After yesterday’s leg workout I needed a truly relaxing and stretch focused class.  I opted to take the stretch/meditation level 1 class at 11:30 this morning.  It was so nice to just be in the moment, holding stretches for 3 minutes and focusing on my chosen mantra.

For me, Sunday’s are all about focusing on the mind-body, and whatever I LOVE.  Sometimes on Sunday my body needs an intense vinyasa flow yoga, sometimes it needs simple stretches and meditation.  It is so important to take advantage of Sunday and accomplish a lot of “me” time to fuel my energy for the work week.  (As you can see in the above I treated myself to what I love- dunkin iced black and a chocolate munchkin.) Growing up, Sunday’s meant big family dinners indulging in pasta and time with loved ones.  I continue that tradition in my own way here in New York City by doing what I love, catching up with family and friends over the phone, and cooking my favorite dinner. (Or whatever I am really craving.) What I DO NOT do is binge eat- binge Netflix is OK!

Now time for Super Bowl – Go PATS!
